I am especially interested in service redesign and motivating individuals and teams through engagement, mentoring and facilitation. My passion is to enable others to achieve their full potential, and I have seen what a difference that makes not only to them but to the people they care for.
Grace Makonyola has worked at all levels of health care services in Britain and Malawi and now brings her 30 years of experience to Public World’s work to transform services through staff involvement.
Her career began as a nurse and midwife in Lilongwe, Malawi, continued as a health visitor in Essex, England, and then as a nursing manager in central London.
Grace rose to be assistant director of a National Health Service community health care trust, responsible for 280 multidisciplinary staff and a £10m budget.
A certified Prince project management and holder of an advanced management consultancy certificate from the Institute of Directors, Grace combines her background in nursing with programme and financial management skills to support team building and staff engagement.
