Bringing Buurtzorg to Britain and Ireland

Want to know about Buurtzorg? Here's a great starter video of founder Jos de Blok's presentation at the RSA in London, when he accepted the prestigious Albert Medal, joining a long line of annual recipients that includes Marie Curie, Thomas Edison and Stephen Hawking.

For more case studies, videos and research, visit our Buurtzorg repository of resources.

Public World is glad to be the partner in Britain and Ireland of Buurtzorg, collaborating with the ground-breaking provider of district nursing and home care in the Netherlands to apply its model internationally.

We are working with health and social care commissioners and providers in a dozen locations in England and Scotland to prepare and support self-managed neighgbourhood teams and tackle the organisational development challenges involved.

Four pilot teams are already at work in England, with more in the pipeline. Here's a Municipal Journal article about our collaboration with East of England Local Government Association to support a new team in West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

We're busy in Scotland too, collaborating with Healthcare Improvement Scotland in their Living Well in Communities programme and supporting learning and development of pilot teams start in Borders and Aberdeen before the end of 2017.
