International Metalworkers‘ Federation

The International Metalworkers’ Federation (IMF) is a ‘union of unions’, with more than 200 national affiliates in more than 100 countries, representing around 25 million workers.
The federation organises in the aerospace, automotive, electrical and electronic sectors, and in iron, steel and other metal production, mechanical engineering and shipbuilding and shipbreaking.
Across all those sectors, businesses have been changing their production methods in ways that cut costs and make workers less secure through contract and agency labour and other kinds of ‘precarious’ employment.
The IMF fights against that and asked Public World to contribute by providing content for the IMF’s campaign booklet, Precarious Work Affects Us All. You can download copies in nine language versions.
